What is Adware?
Adware is an awful type of software that is downloaded and installed on your computer to show you advertisements, usually done without you even knowing. Adware advertisements could be anything from relatively harmless banners packaged within a program, to very harmful pop-up windows that pop up while you’re browsing the internet or when your computer is idle. Adware is a security risk and it is recommended that you not install it if possible.

There are a lot of programs on the internet that contain adware. Most adware comes bundled inside programs and software and is installed without the user knowing, such as Kazaa, CometCursor, Bonzi Buddy and Gator just to name a few. Most programs that contain adware claim that they do not. If you think you have adware, don’t worry just yet. Most times it can be removed quite easily but sometimes it can take some time.
